Lorelyn Paña
Administration Manager
I’m Lorie, your Admin Support at Seedli. I may be offshore but I’m always just one ping away, keeping the admin chaos nicely under control. I’ve been in the financial planning industry for over three years now and I’m absolutely loving it here!
I’m a proud, hardworking Filipina in my early 30s (mentally still 24 and holding). I’m the only child of my parents, who were not married to each other, so I learned early on how to hustle to reach my goals (character development, as they say). I didn’t actually know my father growing up; he later found me on Facebook through his nieces when I was about 16 (big thanks to Mark Zuckerberg for life’s plot twist). I live in the beautiful island of Cebu with my spouse and our dog, who is absolutely convinced she is the real boss in the house. I also have one sibling on my mother’s side and three on my father’s side. My family and most of my friends are just an island away in the pristine island of Bohol, close enough for quick visits and free food.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in the Philippines, which sparked my interest in finance and helping people make smarter money decisions. I enjoy working in financial advice because helping people improve their financial well-being feels genuinely meaningful.
When I am not working, I am usually at home enjoying my introverted life, progressing through my qualification, and running errands because I find chores weirdly fun (don’t judge). I love quiet moments and enjoying my own little world when I can.
Question time
What’s a moment or experience that shaped who you are today?
Having to support most of the units myself through uni as a working scholar. It taught me perseverance, resilience, humility, and that with effort, anything is possible.
If your life right now had a soundtrack, what three songs would be on it and why?
- No Boundaries by Kris Allen
- Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
- Rainbow by South Border
What’s one small habit or decision that’s quietly helped your financial life (even if it wasn’t intentional)?
Staying in more often. Apparently, not going out means not spending money… Who knew?
What’s something you’re completely obsessed with at the moment: a show, hobby, book, podcast, or random niche interest?
Weather updates and current events. I didn’t worry about these when I was younger, but now I’m concerned that islands and beautiful places are disappearing before I get to visit them because of recent natural disasters.
If your younger self asked for one piece of money advice that isn’t boring or preachy, what would you tell them?
Money you save is money you earn, and is something your future self will thank you for. And yes, you can still enjoy and buy your favourite snacks, because balance is key. 🙂
